Accelerating Change in the Social Sector
Morgridge Acceleration Program (MAP)
““The MAP Fellowship was a transformative experience that pushed me to think bigger, act bolder, and lead with greater impact.”
The Morgridge Acceleration Program (MAP) was founded in 2018 as a scalable way to meet the changing needs of the social sector.
Each year, we match mid-career social sector professionals (who become known as MAP Fellows) with a nonprofit executive (known as a MAP Mentor) who has identified a challenge within their organization. MFF provides funding so the Mentors and Fellows can spend six months collaborating and learning from each other to create sustainable solutions. Fellows remain in their current, full-time jobs while dedicating about 15 hours a month, or 90 hours total, to the program. The selection process is highly competitive for both Mentors and Fellows.
The program begins with a kick-off event where Fellows and Mentors meet in person for the first time. Later, Fellows visit their Mentors for a two-day site visit, and meet twice for virtual brainstorming sessions. Finally, at an in-person culmination event, Fellows present their learnings to current and past participants of the program.
Under the stewardship of program manager Ash Gallegos, about 100 MAP Fellows have stayed connected and are enjoying the benefits of an energetic and supportive community. They continue to share the lessons they learn and relationships they’ve built with the MAP community.
