Tony Cohn

Director of Strategy

Tony Cohn is the Director of Strategy for the Morgridge Family Foundation. In this role he identifies, manages, and grows major philanthropic relationships and priorities on behalf of the organization. Additionally, Tony is the creator of the Morgridge Acceleration Program (MAP) Fellowship. 

Previously, Tony was with the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C, where he conceptualized and led Institution-wide projects. He created the Smithsonian’s award-winning podcast, Sidedoor, which reached three million people in its first two years. He oversaw the Institution’s “Pepper Project” which publicly brought robots to a cultural institution for the first time in history. Tony has collaborated with government and cultural institutions across five continents to reimagine the impact of communication and strategic programs. Since 2016, Tony has been part of a U.S. Department of State public diplomacy program that trains media professionals around the world. He is a graduate of American University. Outside the office, you can find Tony on a running trail, visiting a far-flung country, or hunting down a new piece of figurative artwork.
